FHI, Short Residency | Public Lecture: Jodi Dean, "Neo Feudalism and the New Class Struggle"

You are invited to a lecture by Jodi Dean, as part of her Short Residency at the John Hope Franklin Humanities Institute.

Are we still living under capitalism or is it becoming something worse? In this talk, Jodi Dean argues that capitalism is turning into neofeudalism. She describes the new order of parcellated sovereignty, lords and serfs, desolate hinterlands, and psychotic anxiety - and how organizing service sector workers may provide a way to build something better.

Jodi Dean is Professor of Politics at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY. She is the author or editor of fifteen books, including Crowds and Party, Comrade: An Essay on Political Belonging, and Capital's Grave: Neofeudalism and the New Class Struggle.

This lecture is followed by a reception. RSVP here.
