Free Tax Assistance With Duke Law's VITA Program

March 23, 2018

Still haven’t completed your taxes yet? Duke Law’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) can help! You can choose to drop off your tax documents at one of the designated locations during their hours of operation, complete them yourself and onsite through Facilitated Self Assist (FSA), or sign up for an appointment where a certified Quality Reviewer will prepare and review both your federal and state taxes for you. Volunteers will be available onsite to answer any of your questions.

Make sure to have these documents with you on the day you file:

  • Downloaded and completed intake form
  • W-2 forms
  • Government issued photo ID
  • Social Security card
  • A copy of last year’s federal and state returns if available
  • Bank routing numbers for direct deposit
  • Information related to health care coverage
  • Documentation of charitable contributions
