Purchasing your first car can be very stressful if you don’t feel confident about what you’re doing. Feeling good about your purchase has little to do with the color of your car or whether or not you decided to go with leather seats, but lots to do with how well you understand your options and whether you were able to negotiate the prices and terms of your purchase.
Negotiating, evaluating and understanding job offers and salaries can play a key role in determining whether an opportunity is right for you, This workshop will address the skills necessary to negotiate offers, as well as thoroughly evaluate and understand your future paycheck! Make sure your next step after Duke is a financially informed one.
Moving to a new city is exciting, but it can also be a little scary. Learn how to manage your move with confidence by knowing what expenses to plan for, determining the insurance coverage you need, and setting up your new home without busting your budget.
If you are a Graduate student, your income tax return can be a little tricky because your income comes from different sources, and you may be required to report them in different ways. In addition to reporting your income, there are tax credits and deductions to think about. During this session you will learn how to calculate your reportable income, tax credit eligibility, the difference between taxable versus non-taxable income, as well as qualified versus nonqualified expenses. Please note, this seminar addresses domestic tax issues only.
