Insurance ID Card

In most states when you buy automobile insurance, the insurance company will send you an ID (identity) card along with your policy. This is usually a small card that contains all the key details about the auto insurance provided, such as the policy period and name of the insurance company. It should be kept in the car - usually in the glove compartment - so that if you are stopped by the police or involved in an accident you (or whoever is driving the car) have immediate proof of your auto insurance.
